After visiting Funkaam, couple of my friends enquired about how it was designed; whether it was designed from scratch or some tool/ skeletal frame as used. After clarifying couple of their concerns I thought may be puting a write up regarding it, would make things easier. Funkaam is designed using Content Management System (CMS) named Drupal. This is one among many open source CMS softwares; Joomla, Mamboo, PHPNuke to name a few of them. There are quite a few commercial or proprietory CMS like Expression Engine available also.
To create a website, CMS provides a underframe, with ample scope for customization, to add and manage content. It can use a filesystem or DBMS to manage he content. Drupal manages the content using the DBMS,MySQL to be more specific. Like anyone of these above mentioned CMS softwares, Drupal has it's own inconveniences along with it's proficient features.

As I commented earlier at Rosalin's article on the origin of Funkaam - I am still working on adding features to FunKaam.
At present, you can do the following things:
I am working on few more features. The following are the features that might get included:
As I said, I am still working on getting these features into FunKaam. Adding these features should not cause any downtime - hopefully.

One lazy Saturday afternoon, a bag of chips, a can of coke, on the phone discussing about life, career and future plans with a friend. Planning what to do with the idle time and mind, something new something different this time, something that is more fun,yet not just fun. We had tried out our hands in few other things before; Blogging, Role Playing Game Forum, an Article Library and few other stuff. Some of those were successful, and some not so successful. So what's this time? Thought lets bring in more people...more ideas... more problems and their resolutions..and ofcourse more fun. We wanted to cater to a narrower audience this time, though I just talked about "more people" in the previous line. Actually it would be narrowing down the focusing area, but more involvement. This time the audiance would be basically Indian youth, and to be more precise Indian youth in service sector. But the options would always be open,to embrace new groups of audience, to broaden our horizon. We agreed upon starting up something that would be close enough to a Social Networking site, but would have a discussion forum as well. Where people can build their network, talk about new ideas, share experiences, and learn about new oppertunities. That was it; and Funkaam was born.

Wait and watch out this space!!
We should get this launched by May 1st, 2007.
Thanks for visiting.
